We are delighted to announce that Holly May, Partner Designate at the firm, has successfully completed her Probate and Estate Administration qualification and is now licensed to carry out non-contentious probate work.

This important milestone reflects Holly’s commitment to expanding her expertise in private client services and further strengthens the support we offer to individuals and families during difficult times.

“This qualification has been an important goal for me,” commented Holly. “The probate process can be incredibly daunting for those who have lost a loved one. I wanted to be able to offer clear, compassionate, and professional guidance during what is often a very emotional and challenging time.”

Having joined the firm in 2022 in the accounts department and announced as Partner Designate in January 2025, Holly brings not only strong accountancy knowledge but now a deep understanding of estate administration. Her qualification means she is now formally authorised to handle the legal process of non-contentious probate, including applying for Grants of Probate, dealing with HMRC, and ensuring estates are properly administered in line with the deceased’s wishes.

Holly’s new qualification also supports the firm’s continuing ability to offer probate services under its regulatory licence. She joins Tax Consultant Leanne Wootton and Senior Partner Rob Beale in holding this qualification which strengthens the probate team.

Tax Consultant Leanne Wootton says “having another member of the firm that is able to deal with probate and estates will be of great benefit to us, as this is a growing area of the business. We are seeing an increase in the number of people coming to us for assistance in dealing with estates and inheritance tax planning generally.”

If you need advice or support with any aspect of inheritance tax or estate administration, please feel free to contact Holly or Leanne directly.
