I took another trip out to our Cirencester office today for a working lunch with Jenna and Ian.
It’s a lovely sunny day and that seems to bring everybody out, the high street and market place was bustling with people as we headed across the road from our office to MMB Brasserie in The Corn Hall. We hadn’t pre booked and weren’t sure we would get a table at the ever popular ‘Made by Bob’ but we were in luck!
The stylish resturant wasn’t yet filled but already there was a hubub of chatter about the place and it was only 12.30pm! We were seated at the far end of the restaurant which gave us a great view of the open plan kitchen, the brasserie having been designed this way to make diners feel part of the experience.
Having perused the lunch menu which caters for all with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options Ian chose battered haddock with chunky chips, minted crushed peas and tartare sauce, Jenna opted for a savoury tart which consisted of leek, broccoli, onions and blue cheese served with chips and a dressed side salad, and I couldn’t wait to try the roasted artichoke hearts served with harissa sauce and roasted almonds, I also ordered a rocket & parmesan balsamic salad to accompany this.
The food was delicious, and the portions were large!
MMB Brasserie is definitely a place to visit, especially if you have a few hours to relax and soak in the atmosphere, perhaps with nice, chilled glass of wine as the other diners appeared to be doing unfortunately, we just had an hour, and I had a parking ticket deadline! It also probably pays to get there early, being fresh food cooked to order things were disappearing off the menu fast, it just shows their chef’s talents as their food is obviously very popular!
