GWE Business West grew out of the Swindon Development Agency, which was formed in 1986 to provide employment opportunities in the area following the closure of the railworks. Ten years later it was awarded the prestigious Business Link contract to deliver services in Wiltshire; in 2001 this was extended to cover Berkshire as well.

Now one of the UK’s largest enterprise agencies, GWE Busienss West is heavily involved at all levels with businesses, charitable organisations, the voluntary sector and individuals to help create and sustain economic growth in the local community. In short, a company right at the heart of what makes business happen in the local area.
